We found my twin sister, Masako, or Masako-chan to my family, at last. When I touched her body, it was still warm, so we didn't think she was dead and cried loudly, "Masako-chan!"
There were three black dots on her lips, which were, I thought, due to bleeding. Her sleeping face looked so calm that we thought she might have been still alive, and we called her name many times.
A woman, who was still alive, sitting behind Japanese cedars, talked to us, "Luckily for you, you've found her."I answered,"No, she's dead."She said,"Just some time ago she called, 'Setsuko-chan! Mother!' "
There was a crescent on that night. I could see it in the sky between Japanese cedars. Some insects (crickets etc.) were singing, which made me sad. Although insects were alive, why Masako-chan died? "We wish she had been an insect,"we talked to each other. (sobs) "I'm sorry for my sobbing."(sobs)
