<body><a href="../index.html">HOME</a><br><table summary="235"><tr><td class="etesti">235</td><td class="edate">August 10<sup>th</sup>, 1945.  In the morning</td><td class="eage">15 years old at that time</td></tr><tr><td class="ei_midasi" colspan=3>A cat was licking the bowels which had broken out of a horse.</td></tr></table><div class="large"><p>When I went to the front of Urakami Station, a carriage fell down and the broken carriage was on a dead horse.  The stomach of the horse burst and its bowels broke out of it about 3 m (10 feet).  A burned and festered cat was licking them.  I vomited up when I saw it.</p><br><p>I got burned on the leg which developed a water blister.  When it tore and was exposed to the air, it hurt and hurt me, so since I was very young I cried a lot.  At Oohashi (district), a few burned trains were there.  Dead bodies which kept standing in the train were burned black.  When I crossed a iron bridge in Oohashi, I looked down into a river.  There were many people.  I think they got into the river longing for water.</p><br><p>When I was walking  on the street, a man who fell down crept toward me saying, " water, water."  And he drew my leg.  I kicked him off.</p><br><p>Standing men raised their arms and hung down their palms like a ghost.  What hung from their bodies were their skins which fell off from themselves.</p><br><p>A train came from the north.  Since I was a staff of the Japanese National Railways, I raised my hand to a colleague to stop the train and got into it.  And when I entered a coach, The wounded were a lot there.</p><p>At that time, a fighting plane of U.S.A.F. made by Lockheed Corporation (P38), which had two engines and bodies, came to raid us flying low with a deafening roar.</p></div></body>
