I met many victims on the mountain path. They were in a pitiful state which did not look like human being. I consoled them by saying and continued on running. When American aircrafts flew over, I dropped to field. When they had gone, I ran again.
When I arrived at Urakami Seminary, several corpses of children and women lay. All of them suffered from burns.
At the same time big oak trees in the wood at Urakami prison were burning brightly. I thought, "I came so far. I cannot return to where I came from."
