We rushed to the epicenter from the suburb and climbed up the hill. There from the big tombstone on the hill, twenty of us looked down to see what was going on. Then we all became speechless. I sighed,
"Oh my....."
Other people were the same as me, saying no words but just exclamations.
Mountain trees at outskirts of the epicenter were going on fire. Wooden houses were all destroyed. Iron beams of factories were bent and squashed. Their slate roofs were blown off. So were the window glasses. I thought,
"Nagasaki will never recover from this."
