<body><a href="../index.html">HOME</a><br><table summary="167"><tr><td class="etesti">167</td><td class="edate">August 9<sup>th</sup>, 1945.  30 minutes after the explosion</td><td class="eage">15 years old at that time</td></tr><tr><td class="ei_midasi" colspan=3>I made the sign of the cross to dirty water</td></tr></table><div class="largep"><p>My schoolmate who was evacuating with me said to me,</p><p> "I want to drink water.  I wish to drink water."</p><p>I scooped the muddy water in my hands from nearby river.  I dug out inside the pumpkin I found there and poured the water in it.  Then I made the sign of the cross wishing to purify the dirty water.</p><br><p>Since I was a Catholic Christian, I always carried a rosary, crucifix.  I let classmates use the rosary, even they were not Christian.  Together we prayed hard with the rosary in our hands.</p><p>Two Sisters came and joined us.</p></div></body>
