When I came to the shelter, it was full of the seriously injured and there was no room for me to enter. All the people there were half dead. The scene was beyond description and just the same as the picture of the tortures of hell. All were crying, "Help! Help!" But I'd got also injured and could do nothing.
Soon the US carrier-based planes flied toward us and turned in the air. Finding us in white summer shirts, they started machine-gun. Looking up the sky, I found the bloody clouds like mixed two colors, reflecting the color of the flames burning upward.
Whenever I remember the scenery, I go nearly crazy and feel awfully sick even now.
There was a school of education (it's specialized in teaching) in the neighbor and it went up in flames. The fire spread all over the town of Nagasaki very quickly. Everything caught fire.
