<body><a href="../index.html">HOME</a><br><table summary="142"><tr><td class="etesti">142</td><td class="edate">August 9<sup>th</sup>, 1945.  At the moment of the explosion</td><td class="eage">22 years old at that time</td></tr><tr><td class="ei_midasi" colspan=3>The round ball pressured on Nagasaki.</td></tr></table><div class="largep"><p>I was in service at the anti-aircraft unit posted in Kouyagi Island.  My eyes were fixed at the sky for the duty when it happened.</p><p>"B29 passed over the Peninsula Nomo,"</p><p>As soon as one soldier said that, the bomb exploded.</p><p>It flashed and the round ball pressured on the city of Nagasaki.</p><br><p>The next moment, the pink and red cloud, that looked like a doughnut or "the tube for the swimming, floated on the sky over Nagasaki.  It was about the size as big as Mt.Inasa viewed from Kouyagi Island.</p><br><p>When I reported to my captain that the altitude was 800, MUSHROOM CLOUD" rose up in the center of that doughnut.  The (mushroom) cloud swelled up through the doughnut cloud.</p><p>I continued my report,</p><p> "The altitude 10,000,"  "12,000,"  "13,000."</p><p>And then I couldn't observe any more over the altitudes.</p><p>The cloud broke the shape and spread to the sides.</p></div></body>
