At the noon of August 8th, the factory I was working distributed rice balls to people. The same was true at the factory where my father worked. There was the extra ration of rice balls at all of the factories.
On the night of August 8th, I came back home and an air-raid siren went off. My family evacuated into the shelter near my house. My father, mother, brothers and sisters took refuge in the shelter and we shared some rice balls.
That was the last day we were all together.
