The refugees had burns all over their bodies. They were completely naked and blackened from head to toe. Many could only manage to get to the refuge before falling over and expiring. As one fell on top of the other, and then another and another, there grew a pile of corpses higher and higher.
A woman, almost naked and carrying a baby in her arms, came running, too. No sooner had she arrived there than she fell over and died. Not knowing its mother was dead, the baby was screaming at her breast.
Very young children were also among the refugees. People with burns all over their bodies rolled about on the ground, writhing in agony. With burnt skin coming off, their raw open wounds were covered with dirt.
What a tragic sight! It was as though I entered hell. No one can tell what hell is really like until he dies, though.
