Without shoes on, we crawled on our hands and knees over the rubble of collapsed houses. We were shocked and desperate to evacuate. Even now I can't help trembling when I think of that experience.
From under the collapsed houses voices cried out, "Help! Help!" Voices were heard but no figures were visible. In fact, even if we had seen somebody there, none of us would have been kind enough to help them. Each person only cared about themself after all.
Before long, we heard US fighters flying toward us. Someone shouted, "Crouch down or they'll find you!" We kept still where we were. When the noises went away at last, we tried to run away. However, no one could move at all.
