The flashes of light were extremely hot. They were like blue electric sparks. Those lights looked to be dancing in the air like heat devils. I was wearing a jacket and pants, even with my puttees. Nevertheless, it felt like the heat was searing my body directly. I covered my head with my jacket and crouched on the ground.
